Good news Windows 7 will be so much cheaper to upgrade if you have put a vista Pc after 26 of june, i was hoping for a complete free upgrade but that’s not happening at all. how ever the price is not to bad, but nothing compares with Snow Leopard, that $29 Dollar insane price will mark down in the history, and maybe because of the super cheap Snow Leopard that’s why Microsoft was force to lower down the upgrade price of windows 7? or because of the terrible windows Vista? anyway low price is a good news for all Windows user, finally they will be able to have a better windows.
Windows 7 Home Premium: $120 for upgrade; $200 for full version.
Windows 7 Professional: $200 for upgrade; $300 for full version.
Windows 7 Ultimate: $220 for upgrade; $320 for full version
And i am very happy that Windows 7 have less version. if you look at Windows Vista is the most complicate release of windows, with 4 different version i think that Microsoft just have too much time, it will also give themselves more trouble in the future. on the other hand Apple’s marketing strategy with only one version of the OS per-release is so much more effective and consumer friendly. I hope someday Microsoft can make that happen with only one Windows version per release.
Another thing i wanna talk about is the Windows 7 packaging design, i am looking at the image right now (not sure if this is the final design, but if Windows 7 going to ship on October the packaging design should be confirm by now. Oops!), it looks really simple, in fact i felt it’s too simple. Another thing is that size of the box, it’s still quite big if you compare to Current Mac OS X’s Packaging, and it’s still using plastic, that’s not very environmentally friendly and i made my own version of Windows 7 Packaging design, i think it looks much better, it's CD size box (as small as possible) made out of recycled paper, and print with organic Ink. all the menus inside is also print out of recycled paper and organic ink. Wow...Microsoft "PRE" design is ugly...your's smells like "X" box by Apple! :P ...but at least it's shiny and nice! ;)
